The best books on cryptocurrencies and blockchains for 2022
The Blockchain revolution began a few years ago and today represents the real and promising alternative to expensive and "slow" transaction management systems, which are now centralized.
Disintermediation and decentralization are the watchwords.
We have not yet reached a real adoption and the road to global recognition, which will only take place after some regulation, still seems long and tortuous.
We must not be frightened by cryptocurrency speculation, we must not make the mistake of rejecting or praising this technology.
But today the time has come to deepen and understand, in order not to remain outside a world that exists and that could influence everyone's future life.
What is the BlockChain
Put simply and in an extremely simplified way, the Blockchain (part of the broader family of Distributed Ledgers ) is a digital register of data that is chained together by blocks and in chronological order.
Each participant in the blockchain is a node and together with the others validates the blocks: once the information block is validated it cannot be modified or canceled.
Therefore the system validates the transactions that take place on the network in a decentralized way.
In this way, there are no intermediaries and anyone can view the concluded transactions: all without privacy being violated because behind the transactions there are numeric and non-nominative alpha codes.
Satoshi Nakamoto (pseudonym of a still anonymous person) introduced the first blockchain in 2008 to make it the ledger of a future cryptocurrency, Bitcoin.
What are Cryptocurrencies
The now-famous cryptocurrencies (see Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polkadot, Dogecoin, ...) are based on blockchain technology, a Digitalisexploitigital means of payment.
But of course, the question is not that simple, so I invite you to read and study to understand this world that can really be the future (and perhaps it is already the present).
I will not offer you magical guides to becoming a millionaire in four days, but some interesting reads to understand the blockchain and cryptocurrencies that no, they are no longer simply a means of payment for cybercriminals.Ps before continuing I leave you the links of those that I believe are the best (and most reliable) exchanges where to buy cryptocurrencies. But be very careful with Coinbase coin base and Binance.
The books to read for 2022
Blockchain. Business technology and applications
Author: Gianluca Chiap, Jacopo Ranalli, Raffaele Bianchi
Year: 2019
Pages: 248
In my opinion, it is one of the best books in Italian to understand the blockchain and its applications: it is good both for those who already know something about it, and for newbies.
I find it very useful because conceptually it comes well before cryptocurrencies which are only one of the areas that exploit the blockchain.
If we are not sure that Bitcoin is the new gold or Ethereum the heart of decentralized finance, it is much more likely that the blockchain will be the technology of the future, given the many areas of application that you will find in the book.
Crypto economy. Bitcoin, blockchain, ICO: what are the new digital currencies, and how they work
Author: Roberto Gorini
Year: 2018
Pages: 208
Here we go more towards cryptocurrencies (and Ico), always starting from the blockchain. I would recommend pairing it with the previous book, reading this immediately after.
In my opinion, the text is well written and easy to understand, despite the complexity of some topics.
Bitcoin, Cryptocurrencies, Blockchain Easy Explained: The Complete Guide to Cryptocurrencies for Those Starting From Scratch
Author: Cesare Bianchi
Year: 2019
Pages: 144
Perhaps a less in-depth reading of the previous one is useful for clarifying the basic concepts of the bit economy. If you just want a smattering of this new world, perhaps this is the book for you.
The Future of Value: Blockchain, Cryptoasset, and Decentralized Finance
Author: Pasquale Sorgentone
Year: 2020
Pages: 304
A recent reading of mine, really very complete to understand a bit of the whole blockchain and crypto universe. Each chapter is practically in itself and all together gives a unique overview of the ecosystem we are talking about.
Buy it and you will not regret it!
Blockchain 2022
Author: Maciku Finance
Year: 2021
Pages: 285
A good manual that aims to deepen the main concepts of blockchain and decentralized finance. A look at the main cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum and the most relevant trends such as NFTs.
For those who don't have all the basics yet, this book can be a great place to start.
For those who want to invest in cryptocurrencies
Something more practical (but never underestimate the theory).
Easy Bitcoin: How to Invest in Bitcoin effectively ...
Author: Cristian Palusci
Year: 2019
Pages: 301
In my opinion, an excellent text for those who are approaching the complex world of cryptocurrency, with a more practical approach than the books I have already reviewed.
Bitcoin is given a lot of space, compared to altcoins, but at the moment this is right.
BITCOIN: The Complete 2021 Guide to Investing in Bitcoin
Author: William R. Moore
Year: 2021
Pages: 90
An approach similar to the previous one but shorter (90 pages). Easy to read, not very repetitive given the small number of pages.
